In this movie, Lina and Max are former classmates who just happen to be on the same flight home from New York. When their flight is canceled, they work together to get home via car, train, dog grooming truck, and even a tractor. Through a series of unfortunate and funny events, they get to know each other and meet some interesting characters along the way.
For the most part, I enjoyed this movie. It was funny and entertaining, and the plot was different enough. However, there were a few things that bothered me. First, for two people trying to get home for Christmas, Lina and Max don't seem to be in much of a hurry. Even when they could keep moving, they choose to stop and eat good food, get to know new people, star in a Nativity play, and sing Christmas carols. Yes, I realize that this is what drives the plot of the movie, but it makes me anxious that they aren't getting home. I'm also a little concerned that Lina drives to Colorado while Max sleeps in the back of the truck. There's no way he stays on that bench for the entire drive, and the whole things feels very unsafe. Also, it rains a lot in this movie.
Hallmark gets and A on: the cargo train ride; the Nativity play; the bunk beds; the dog grooming truck; the plot that does not involve an evil developer or a small town bakery
Hallmark gets a D on: Greg
