This is the fourth installment of the Christmas in Evergreen series. Like most series, this one should have ended after number one or two. I really enjoyed the first movie that came out in 2017, but the others have gotten progressively worse, despite the franchises's ability to retain almost all of its actors. In this one, the town of Evergreen is as charming and Christmassy as ever, but the holiday cheer is starting to make my eye twitch.
This movie centers on the Christmas wedding of Mayor Michelle, but the groom is snowed in and fails to show up, leading to an especially unfortunate wedding-vows-by-Zoom incident.

Honestly, though, I was relieved that the wedding had to be postponed. I'm not trying to go all Protestant Reformation or anything, but the Evergreen church was ornate with a capital Christmas, and it didn't work for me.
The movie also focuses on Hannah's relationship with Elliot, which is at a crossroads because Elliot might want to open a store in the big city, and Hannah is happy in Evergreen. I found this storyline a little boring and would have preferred more drama. By contrast, I was intrigued by Mr. Cooper, who brings awareness to the plight of the haberdasher, something we should all remember this Christmas.
Hallmark gets an A on: the town of Evergreen (I think); the Cooper sisters, cookie decorating, the red truck, Barbara Niven (always delightful); stellar Nestle ad placement

Hallmark gets a D on: over-decorating; confusing me with repeat actors (Sonya = Pamela Franks from Cranberry Christmas & Mr. Cooper = Mr. Grantham from Christmas She Wrote... thank you imdb)
Christmas in Evergreen - 2017 (I never reviewed this one, but it would have gotten an A)
Christmas in Evergreen - 2021 (not looking good)
Grade: C-
* Note Grading Scale:
A = This is seriously a good movie. It will remain on my DVR for the season.
B = Totally exceeded my expectations. I'm happy to recommend.
C = This is an average Hallmark movie. Good holiday fun.
D = I'm disappointed... but I watched it. Why not?
F = I actually had a hard time getting through this one. And that says a lot.
