I loved Holiday For Heroes | A

Writer's picture: IlovehallmarkmoviesIlovehallmarkmovies

Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Premiere | November 8, 2019

This movie opens with a red barn, falling snow, and coffee brewing. From that moment forward, it wraps itself around you like a warm blanket.

Over the top? Yes. Do I love it? Absolutely.

In this movie, cafe-owner Audrey sends her soldier brother in Afghanistan a Christmas coffee care package, which he promptly shares with fellow soldier Matt. Matt sends Audrey a thank-you note, she replies, and they exchange letters for a year. Just in time for Christmas, Matt is sent back to the U.S. and happens to end up in Audrey's small hometown. They meet in person, and they are adorable. This is one of those that makes you smile, then look around to make sure that no one saw you getting way too emotionally involved.

Excuse me, but I just have to ask. Is there any chance that she picks me?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

Hallmark gets an A on: both leads; romance; fun and touching story; great supporting characters; Christmas s'more festival (fantastic idea); a grand romantic gesture that completely works; lots of "awwww" moments; the ending; striking the perfect tone for Veterans Day

Hallmark gets a D on: the mayor in this movie gets a D. She's horrible.

Side note- what was with the Nespresso ads, Hallmark? Have we abandoned Folgers?

Et tu, Brute?

Grade: A

* Note Grading Scale:

A = This is seriously a good movie. It will remain on my DVR for the season.

B = Totally exceeded my expectations. I'm happy to recommend.

C = This is an average Hallmark movie. Good holiday fun.

D = I'm disappointed... but I watched it. Why not?

F = I actually had a hard time getting through this one. And that says a lot.
